UNCURSED is a psychological horror game in development by solo developer AJB GAMES STUDIO, and it looks very impressive!

Step into the chilling world of UNCURSED, a heart-pounding horror game that will test your courage and nerve. After a 3 months of unanswered calls, Alex returns to his grandmother's house, only to discover a seemingly peaceful scene. However, a sudden turn of events shatters the tranquility.

After taking a nap, Alex awakens to find the house eerily quiet abandoned and covered in blood. His grandmother is nowhere to be found, replaced by a sinister presence that lurks in the shadows. Unravel the chilling mystery and uncover the dark secrets that lie within the walls of this once-familiar home.

With spine-tingling atmosphere, intense jump scares, and a haunting storyline, Grandma's House of Horrors will keep you on the edge of your seat from start to finish. Can you survive the horrors that await you?

There is a demo you can try out if you have spare ten minutes, located here: UNCURSED ( DEMO ) by AJB GAMES STUDIO

Check it out and come back and tell us what you think of it.

I have never considered myself to be a shrinking violet by any stretch of the imagination and I'm a horror game veteran having played most mainstream titles. This is a very interesting little project, a little heavy on the jump scares right off the bat which seemed unnecessary - but mayhap a good inclusion in a demo. I would rather see a slow build up. Ramp up the tension and unsettle the player with the atmosphere rather than diving down their throat from the off.

This certainly has potential, but after the second entirely gratuitous jump scare, the shock value was lost on me. Credit to the developer for the frights, but this needs some work before I could recommend it as a quality product worthy of a monetary investment.

My thoughts exactly on this. The first one made me jump. I think I said something really smart and clever along the lines of "fuck, fuck, fuck" but I could be wrong. And then nothing? And then another jump scare and then... nothing again? Tension can be built in much better ways than what it was. Still, for an indie game and a first look demo, I thought it was pretty damned smart.
