Resident Evil undertook a major shift between Nemesis and Resident Evil 4, changing from what we would consider classic survival horror with fixed perspectives to an over-the-shoulder view. The game became a lot more action orientated and it was a shift I couldn't get behind. I get the appeal of action-based titles, but there are so many that the market was/is completely saturated. Resident Evil, survival horror, was different - and Capcom's move turned me off.

Do you think that the move was a good one for the series? Did the move hurt or help the series? Does Resident Evil still feel like survival horror, or has it become something else?

Which style do you prefer and why? Do you miss the tense, slower pace of the classics, or do you enjoy the more fluid action of the later games in the series?
