1. You Must Be 17+
This forum is strictly for users 17 and older. When you register, you’ll be asked to confirm your age and provide your date of birth. We take this seriously—if you’re under 17, this isn’t the place for you. The content here is mature, and that’s something we enforce.

2. Mature Content
DREADPIXELS embraces the full spectrum of horror, and that includes mature content. By joining, you acknowledge that the following types of content are present and that you’re comfortable engaging with them: extreme violence or gore (graphic depictions of injury, mutilation, etc.), depictions of death or torture, sexual content or nudity (explicit scenes, sexual acts, suggestive themes), strong language (excessive swearing, offensive slurs), depictions of drug or alcohol use, adult themes (such as prostitution, abuse, human trafficking), psychological horror or disturbing themes (including mental illness, insanity, extreme fear), depictions of crime (murder, robbery, organized crime), gambling simulations or references, extreme or graphic depictions of bodily functions, references to self-harm or suicide, and content featuring extreme or deviant behaviour (like fetishism or non-consensual acts). While we allow for these themes to be discussed and depicted, they must still follow the rest of our forum guidelines. Gratuitous content that serves no purpose other than to shock or harm others, or anything crossing into illegal territory, won’t be tolerated. If you’re uncomfortable with these types of content, consider whether this community is the right fit for you.

3. Respect Each Other
Horror can be intense, but your behaviour shouldn’t be. Respect is key—personal attacks, harassment, and abusive language will not be tolerated. Disagreements are fine, but if it crosses the line into insults or toxic behaviour, action will be taken. We want a community where people can feel comfortable sharing their thoughts without being attacked for it.

4. Stick to the Topic
Keep discussions relevant to the forum or subforum you’re posting in. Every section has its focus, and we ask that you respect that. Off-topic posts may be moved or removed by staff. We understand conversations can shift, but try to keep things on track. If you want to go off on a tangent, there’s always The Safe House for that.

5. No Spam or Unapproved Self-Promotion
Promotion of your projects or content is fine, but only in the spaces where it’s allowed. Flooding the forum with links to your work or unrelated ads is considered spam, and we’ll remove it. If you’re here just to advertise, this isn’t the platform for you. Engage with the community, and if you’ve got something to promote, do it in the right place.

6. No Hateful or Offensive Content
We have zero tolerance for racist, sexist, homophobic, or otherwise hateful content. Everyone here is entitled to their opinion, but anything intended to demean or harm others based on their identity will result in swift action. This is a space for horror fans of all kinds, and we want everyone to feel welcome, no matter who they are.

7. Mature Content, Within Limits
Yes, we allow mature content, including extreme violence, gore, and adult themes, but there are still boundaries. Real-world violence, explicit illegal content, and anything solely intended to offend or harm others is not welcome. We want mature discussions, not reckless ones. Use common sense, and if you’re unsure, think twice before posting.

8. Respect Copyright
Sharing content is great, but you need to have permission. Posting copyrighted material without the owner’s approval is against the rules, whether it's images, videos, or written work. If you don’t own it, make sure you have the right to share it here.

9. Respect Privacy
Protect the privacy of others just like you’d want your own protected. Don’t share personal information—like names, addresses, or contact details—without consent. We’re all here to engage with horror, not to pry into someone’s personal life.

10. Report Problems
If you come across content that breaks the rules or makes you uncomfortable, let the staff know. We can’t see everything, so your help keeps the community safe and enjoyable for everyone. Don’t hesitate to report issues—it’s better to address them early.

11. Follow Staff Instructions
Moderators and admins are here to keep things running smoothly. If they ask you to do something, we expect you to listen. If you disagree with a decision, you can reach out to them privately and respectfully to talk about it. Open communication is key, but at the end of the day, their call stands.

12. One Account Only
Each person is allowed one account, and one account only. Creating multiple accounts to evade bans or cause trouble will result in an immediate ban. We value transparency, and one account helps us keep things fair.
