I caught season one of this completely by accident last year and was immediately hooked. It's a real slow-burner mystery series and exceptionally well done. It just hit differently than other horror TV that I had watched recently. Oppressive, dark, and full of tension, From creates a sense of dread that sticks with you long after each episode. The pacing is deliberate and the town’s unsettling atmosphere adds to the constant feeling of unease.
I spent the first season trying to get a handle on what was going on. This is not an in your face series, it takes it real slow, revealing small snippets of information each episode causing you to question the whats and the whys and the hows. Bloody brilliant.
Season two made me think that the mysteries in From go way deeper than first imagined. It felt like the show was intentionally widening the scope, introducing more questions than answers. It reminded me of the way Lost expanded in the latter seasons, both answering some questions and asking many more.
Season 3 is out now, but I'm waiting until its all released as I'm just no good with episodic content. I hate cliffhangers and need to know what's going to happen next. Season 3 is on my binge-TV lost once it's all ready to go. Until that time, no spoilers please!
