Well, know Sweet Home even though I have never played it myself. It sounds fascinating, especially with the concept of managing five characters with unique skills. Do you think its mechanics can hold up compared to modern survival horror games?

Sweet Home is a 1989 survival horror game by Capcom for the Famicom (NES) that significantly influenced the genre and is regarded as a precursor to the Resident Evil series. Based on a Japanese horror film, the game involves a group of characters exploring a haunted mansion filled with supernatural threats. Players manage multiple characters with unique abilities, solve puzzles, and battle monsters while focusing on inventory management and character interactions. Its innovative blend of real-time exploration and turn-based combat, along with RPG elements, has contributed to its lasting impact and cult following, despite its limited release in Japan.

Haven't played it, but I have heard so much about it, it's definitely going to be top on my list when I resume playing games again.

Sweet Home was the first game that featured players having to make choices on inventory management. And that particular aspect of Sweet Home is what Resident Evil emulated in their releases. It was a trailblazer in survival horror gaming.
