Warp and Kenji Eno created "D," which was released in 1995. It was one of the first games to combine cinematic narration with dynamic gameplay. Due to the usage of full-motion video, the experience feels similar to watching a film. The game focuses on psychological terror instead of jump scares. The plot follows Laura Harris as she examines a hospital that has devolved into an awful ordeal. Players have two hours to finish the game, and no stops or saves are allowed. This feature adds to the scary mood of the game.

That game sounds really interesting. I love how it mixes cinematic elements with gameplay. The whole idea of psychological terror instead of just jump scares is pretty cool too. The no-save, two-hour limit definitely adds a ton of pressure, making it even scarier. I can see why it’s considered a classic now.

I really enjoyed D! The two-hour time limit and no-save feature adds so much tension in the game, thus, making every decision feel critical. I think the cinematic storytelling and psychological focus were ahead of their time. By the way, did you find the no-save mechanic thrilling or frustrating? Do you think modern games should adopt that style?
